Description

L6258EX is a dual full bridge for motor controlapplications realized in BCD technology, with thecapability of driving both windings of a bipolarstepper motor or bidirectionally control two DCmotors.L6258EX and a few external components form acomplete control and drive circuit. It has highefficiency phase shift chopping that allows a verylow current ripple at the lowest current controllevels, and makes this device ideal for steppers aswell as for DC motors.The power stage is a dual DMOS full bridgecapable of sustaining up to 40V, and includes thediodes for current recirculation.The output currentcapability is 1.5A per winding in continuous mode,with peak start-up current up to 2A. A thermalprotection circuitry disables the outputs if the chiptemperature exceeds the safe limits.
